Artist Nohi Mehrotra in her art studio

Biography

NOHI MEHROTRA
b. Kanpur, India | Jersey City, NJ-based

Nohi Mehrotra is an intuitive energy healer who experiences partial synesthesia, where music unfolds as a vibrant spectrum of colors before her eyes. She transforms this unique multisensory perception into a visual symphony. Her paintings vibrating with vivid colors are infused with light language—a channeled spiritual language that transcends traditional communication to convey subconscious messages to the viewer.

Nohi’s artistic journey is deeply rooted in her rich Indian upbringing. The enchanting melodies of Sufi and Hindustani Classical music, along with the vibrant textiles that surrounded her, have left an indelible mark on her work.

She ventured to New York in 2011, to pursue her visual-arts career, studying at the renowned School of Visual Arts and The Art Student’s League.

In 2019, Nohi was featured painting live in a documentary “Dialogues with Zuleyha,” where she collaborated with a music therapist, offering the audience an immersive healing experience. Nohi’s paintings are in private global collections in India, Turkey, Texas, New York and New Jersey.
